Adult orthodontic treatment contributes to significant improvements in both professional and personal lives, according to respondents to this study. Seventy-five percent of adults surveyed reported improvements in career or personal relationships, which they attributed to their improved post-orthodontic treatment smile. Citing newfound self-confidence, 92 percent of survey respondents say they would recommend orthodontic treatment to other adults.

most common questions we are asked about adult treatment

We love answering your questions. Contact us today and let us answer these for you.

  1. Yes, there is no age limit for Invisalign, and it can be used to treat patients of all ages:

  2. Adults: Invisalign can help adults achieve straighter teeth, and many adults prefer Invisalign because it’s convenient and discreet.

Invisalign can correct serious dental issues at any age, but in comparison to braces, the length of treatment may be the same, longer or at times even shorter than braces.  An Invisalign expert, like Dr. DiGiovanni that has treated thousands of orthodontic orthodontic patients can accurately guide you on your treatment on every level.

No.  If you are interested in starting your Invisalign treatment, simply make an appointment with our office at your convenience.

Although treatment with Invisalign may not take longer than braces, the process is quite different and it may take longer to see changes occurring.  This may seem counterintuitive but the process is so different with braces than Invisalign that the manner in which the teeth align is often slower with Invisalign.

Whether your insurance covers Invisalign can depend on several factors, including your specific insurance plan and provider. Here are some general points to consider:

  1. Coverage Details: Many dental insurance plans offer some level of coverage for orthodontic treatments, but the extent can vary. Some plans might cover a portion of the costs while others may not1.

  2. Waiting Periods: Some insurance plans have waiting periods before orthodontic benefits kick in. This means you might need to wait a certain amount of time after enrolling in the plan before you can use the orthodontic benefits2.

  3. Pre-Authorization: Your insurance provider might require pre-authorization for orthodontic treatments. This means you would need to get approval from your insurance company before starting treatment to ensure it will be covered1.

  4. Coverage Limits: There might be a lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic treatments, which is the total amount your insurance will pay for orthodontic care over your lifetime1.

To get a definitive answer, it’s best to contact your insurance provider directly. They can give you detailed information about your specific plan’s coverage for Invisalign

Typically every 2 months.   The frequency of visits is less with Invisalign (8-10 weeks) over braces (4-6 weeks)

The pressure from the aligners on your teeth can cause a dull ache or feeling of tightness.  The discomfort for most patients is less with Invisalign than braces.
