Smile Design

The Art & Science involved in Creating Beautiful Smiles

Dr. DiGiovanni’s Smile Design Explained

Please understand that orthodontics is an art and a science. There should never be a “cookie-cutter” approach to smile design. Every orthodontist will design your smile differently, and it is important that you both are on the “same page” about what will transpire.

My focus is “Esthetics first, then biology and function.” All 3 are equally important, but you must start by planning the look of the smile and then fit the proper bite for health and stability.

At your first office visit, we will spend time understanding your main concerns and the reason you are seeking treatment. At your initial exam, we will discuss all options available to you, starting with the option I think is the most ideal and continuing with viable treatment options, always with a focus on your chief concerns.

"ESTHETICS" FIRST ORTHODONTICS

Dr. DiGiovanni designs each patient’s smile with the “Esthetics – Biology (health) – Bite Function Triad.  This patient shows the “art” of smile design.  Palate expansion created space and made for a wider smile.  All without tooth extraction!
